Youth Mentor, NISS

Ngāpuhi Iwi Social Services (NISS) is looking for Youth Mentors to offer responsive youth-focused interventions to taitamariki who are experiencing difficulties and are at risk of offending or re-offending. Mentors will assist taitamariki to develop their knowledge and life skills to enable them to confidently participate in Te Ao Maori and in the wider world.
Ideally, the successful applicants will have Youth Work qualifications and / or skills and experience. They will be able to successfully engage with taitamariki and their whanau and develop, implement and monitor individual plans with taitamariki which focus on their Ngāpuhi identity, connection, education and training, and other areas of need.
The successful applicants will have knowledge of Ngāpuhi reo me ona tikanga
These positions will be based in Kaikohe.
