Are you someone who enjoys working with systems, processes, and information? Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi (TRAION) is looking for a candidate with passion and a systems mindset to help lead the development and integrity of our iwi membership database. This role is key to ensuring the iwi membership database remains accurate, secure, and fit for purpose — supporting meaningful engagement with Ngāpuhi uri, hapū, and whānau.

Ngā Kawenga – What You’ll Do

• Lead the Ngāpuhi Membership Database
  Maintain and enhance the system that connects us with our people. Drive data integrity campaigns and explore automation or AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Support Hapū and Whānau Engagement
  Provide tools and insights to connect and communicate more effectively with Ngāpuhi uri, hapū, and whānau.
• Build Capability
  Support a small team, develop resources, and help kaimahi and hapū users confidently engage with the system.
• Uphold Data Sovereignty and Security
  Ensure our systems reflect Ngāpuhi tikanga, comply with the Privacy Act, and honour Māori Data Sovereignty principles.
• Advise on Wider Systems
  Provide light-touch guidance on digital tools and system alignment across TRAION and Ngāpuhi Group entities.

• A passion for systems and processes — even if you’re still learning.
• Strong analytical skills, and a structured approach to information.
• Familiarity with tikanga Māori and a commitment to kaupapa Māori approaches.
• Curiosity about digital tools, automation, and improving systems for collective benefit.
