2017 NZ Tag Football Nationals for Ngāpuhi Sportswoman
Rachel Panapa plays for the Canterbury Women’s Tag Football team. Last month they went to the NZTFI Nationals in Auckland. She said that it was an awesome experience to be a part of the tournament and a privilege to be with a team that displayed great commitment and determination.
A big thank you for the discretionary fund I received from Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi. The funding assistance allowed me to participate and attend the competition. Being part of the tournament and the team also enabled Rachel to connect with whānau. “My cousin was a member of the team – I was able to connect with her and her side of the whānau in Auckland.
My goal for 2018 is to attend the nationals and possibly even participate in the Tag World Cup being held in Queenstown.
