22 June 2017A long journey for a worthwhile kaupapa
Kua tau mai ngā manaakitanga o te runga rawa ki a tātou te iwi. He mihi kau ake ki a rātou mā kua hoki tau ki tua okioki ai. Ki a tātou e ora nei ana, tēnā tātou katoa. The Whirinaki Toiora Trust, Rangatahi project and Script to Screen would like to thank Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi for the funds made available to be able to support the launch of ‘Natalie’ our short film presented at the Wairoa Māori Film Festival. The hui was held during Queen’s Birthday weekend. The funds provided, enabled our group to witness the coming of age of our own young director Quianna Titore of Omanaia. Her directorship allowed ‘Natalie’ to receive a prestige’s award for Māori film makers, where competition is at a peak. The journey was long but the kaupapa was worthwhile and we hope to continue to allow our taitamariki more opportunities to show their unique talents. So, this is a big thank you to Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi for making it happen.
Ngā mihi
Bill & Hirini, Whirinaki Toiora Management Team
