10 August 2017Enabling opportunities for young Ngāpuhi
I would like to thank Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi O Ngāpuhi for helping me attend this year’s ‘Aspiring Leaders Forum’ in Wellington. It was an honour to attend as a delegate. I have been to many places and many conferences but this event has a very special place in my heart. It has really helped my personal development as a young Māori woman and deepened my self-discovery. Sometimes we are so busy thinking about our professional development that sometimes we forget about ourselves in the process while trying to look out for others.
This experience continues to mold me as a young leader as I carry on along my journey. I look forward to sharing this experience with others and I hope that in the near future we can get more young people from our communities attending this forum because it really is life-changing. I am so proud to be Ngāpuhi. I love sharing the fact that I have you guys backing me in everything I do – enabling opportunites for young Ngāpuhi such as myself. Again – thank you.
Kia ora
