14 September 2017Te Kahui Wahine – the back bone of Te Pihopatanga
This letter of appreciation is on behalf of the Reverend Ginny Henare, Mrs Hepetema Kaka and myself, the Reverend Mihiterina Cribb. We each received discretionary funding from the Rūnanga to subsidise our travel and accommodation costs to attend the 2016 National Biennial Conference for Te Kahui Wahine o Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa in Palmerston North.
As the theme of the hui was ‘Wahine Toa’, we studied the Biblical character ‘Abigail’. Bishop Te Kitohi Pikaahu was present to show his support of Te Kahui Wahine. At the last conference he acknowledged our rōpū as a network, being the ‘backbone’ of Te Pihopatanga. The next hui in 2018 will be in Waitangi and hosted by Taitokerau.
Noho ora mai
