Tobias goes through to the Top 8

On behalf of Tobias Witehira, I would like to thank you for supporting him to attend the U15 National Basketball Tournament. Tobias played for Tasman and their aim was to reach the Top 8. They won three of their pool matches and lost one game to Hawkes Bay, so they surprised everyone (including themselves) and did go through to the Top 8. Unfortunately with Dunedin in a State of Emergency because of the flooding the finals had to be moved to John McGashan College.
Tasman played against Hawkes Bay in the final – it was an epic game. Tobias scored the last two points to tie the game at full-time. They went into overtime and Hawbes Bay came out winners, 84-81. To come second out of nineteen teams is an amazing feat for a team that comes from four different regions to represent the Top of the South (Tasman) and only trained together for three months. Thanks again for your support of Tobias – it was really appreciated.
