Kia ora. Thank you so much for the funds to assist our tamariki to get to their representative tournaments for Te Taitokerau Touch. Henare and Jordan-Lee made us all proud not only by their efforts on the field at the Northern IPS Touch Tournament (Rotorua) but by their conduct off it also. Henare played for the Taitokerau under-12 boys team and they were very competitive in their grade – they learnt lots. Jordan-Lee played for the Taitokerau under-10s Elite Mixed team which went through the tournament unbeaten to collect the Gold medal – this was awesome.
Their sister Tahlia played for the Taitokerau under-18 girls team. Their tournament was played in very wet conditions and they ended up coming 7th. Tahlia’s talent has been recognised and she has been asked to attend the Touch NZ under-18 Youth Cup World trials in April. We are very proud of all our tamariki and are grateful for the support from the Rūnanga.
Kind regards, Jason, Rachel, Tahlia, Henare and Jordan-Lee Parangi.
