L-R: Viv Rickard (MSD), Te Rau Arena (Te Rūnanga Ā Iwi Ō Ngāpuhi Deputy Chair), Eru Lyndon (MSD), Nick Chamberlain (Northland DHB) and Te Rōpu Poa (GM Te Hau Ora ō Ngāpuhi).
On Rāmere 8 Here-turi-kōkā, some of our team from across the Ngāpuhi group went to Te Kohangu Museum of Waitangi to join Eru Lyndon, Regional Commissioner for the Ministry of Social Development, Chief Executive Debbie Power and the MSD leadership team to kōrero about MSD’s focus for the year ahead.
We had a chance to talk about how things have changed since Covid and the impact on our communities, and hear from MSD about some of the innovative ways they could provide support, such as through jobs creation in the North.
This was an excellent, collaborative hui between partners and stakeholders – other Iwi, councils, DHBs and NGOs. One thing was clear, we’re all in this together, and if we remember that and continue our dialogue with each other, we’ll get better outcomes for our people.
